The trust of our readers is the most valuable thing we have. These are the commitments we work by every day in the newsroom.

Independence

elValle Actualidad is an independent news outlet. It does not belong to, or answer to, any political party, public authority or business group. We report on every town hall and every political force by the same standards.

Sources and verification

We check information against official and direct sources: town halls, the Almería Provincial Council, the Andalusian regional government, the Guardia Civil, AEMET, associations and the people involved. Whenever possible, we link to the source and cite it at the end of the article.

News, opinion and advertising, kept apart

Opinion is signed and has its own section. Advertising and sponsored content are always clearly labelled and never influence our reporting.

Incidents

We respect the presumption of innocence. We do not publish the names, nicknames or initials of people under investigation or arrested, nor images of people in incident reports. We treat victims and their families with respect.

Children and personal data

We do not show recognisable children unless it is necessary for the story; if they appear in a photo, we blur their faces or crop the image. We take care of personal data that appears in documents and images.

Images and credits

We use our own photographs, photos from official sources, from the organisers of each event or under a free licence, always credited. We do not use images from other media without permission.

Corrections

If we find a mistake, or you tell us about one, we correct it as soon as possible and, if the change is significant, we note it at the end of the article with the date of the correction.

Technology and artificial intelligence

We use digital tools, including artificial intelligence, for research and to help us write. No news story in Spanish is published without a member of the newsroom reviewing it, checking it and taking responsibility for its content.

The English edition is translated automatically with artificial intelligence from our Spanish articles and is published without being reviewed by a person. Each English article says so at the top and links to the original in Spanish, which is the version that prevails.

Participation

This newspaper is open to everyone. You can send us news, proposals and complaints, in English or in Spanish; if you ask us to, we will protect your identity as a source.
