Arboleas, with 4,215 inhabitants (INE, 2025), lies in the east of the Almanzora Valley, on the riverbanks and the foothills of the Sierra de los Filabres. Much of its population growth came from residents arriving from other countries, above all from the United Kingdom, which boosted the service sector.
The Pedro Gilabert Museum, opened in 2003, displays 142 sculptures carved from olive wood by this artist. The Torre de Arboleas, an octagonal watchtower, was part of the Almanzora’s defensive system, and the gypsum soils of Limaria are home to unusual plants adapted to them.
Its patron saint fiestas, in honour of San Roque, arrive in August, and since 2000 the town has hosted the «Al-Arbuli» food festival.
