About the Almanzora Valley

The River Almanzora rises in Alcóntar and flows west to east through a valley of 27 municipalities, between the Sierra de los Filabres to the south and the Sierra de las Estancias to the north. According to the 2025 INE census, 54,652 people live there, 4.3% fewer than in 2011.

From the source of the river to Zurgena, the eastern gateway to the valley, by way of Serón, Tíjola, Purchena, Olula del Río, Macael, Fines, Cantoria, Albox and Arboleas: here is the news from all of them, town by town, with the map of the Valley to find each one.

These are towns of marble and orchards, of mountains and riverbanks, with fiestas that fill the calendar and people who build their future without leaving. If something is happening in yours, tell us.
